Not So Spiritual

The Source of Inspiration

by anirudhasher on Jun.22, 2010, under Not So Spiritual

Whilst in a place or a condition that causes immense pressure to eventually turn the coal that exists in our minds to diamonds, many ideas and concepts arise that can take one to greatness. Ironically though the conditions for such greatness allow only for it to exist in its small bound walls. There is also usually an iron gate connected to those walls to allow for just enough hope that inspiration may flow.

Sometimes one may come across a song that inspires enough to transcend all constriction, above is such a song. It is called envelope and it is a track from the psychedelic trance genre. Some may like it, others may scoff, the truth though lies in the past, in a world where there were more rules than there were allowances.

From a distant memory, arrive wispful reminders of boarding school. At that time it seemed as though it was of no use and that one would eventually die there alone, unwanted and filled to the brim with inspiration, ideas and concepts that would die with me just as all hope for freedom had.

Churning a poem, story, quotes, or digital images was an occurrence that happened multiple times in a day, and it was only through that misery that dimensions were changed as we jumped from one plane to the other in search for peace, tranquillity and joy.

Most of these transitions occurred when alone, life changed within minutes and seconds waved by as moods changed at fancy. Playing sports ruled the intention of the day, a glimpse of a crush, a long chat with a favourite soufriend in the library, sharing a good long chat with a long lost brother in the restricted cover of night or just being hidden and alone in the back of an air-conditioned auditorium while a theatre rehearsal tried its hardest to rage as loud as one’s headphones with the synchronous sounds of Envelope and a vision of the world that just for some strange reason seemed blue.

Those days are gone now, transitioned into the pace and colour of a much more rugged life. Some call it evolution, others call it growth but I prefer that it be called an extended transition of life, along the line of which we may or may not find what we are really looking for. I on the other hand have found who I was looking for.

I have just one thing to say to life who made me wait and inspired me all the while: It was most definitely worth it.

Miracles do happen

by anirudhasher on Jul.06, 2009, under Not So Spiritual

There are three types of people in this world.

  1. Believers
  2. Non-believers
  3. Those in between

As you can see from the heading of this post, it’s quite clear what I’m talking about here. The reason I’m referring to miracles is becuase I have not seen any in a while and I’m hoping that the miracle department of the universe sees this as a sign to send me some soon.

The ones I am referring to are not your pharmacy variety miracles involving visions, God, apparitions or even major kicks on one’s arse if you get the force of my foot.

As we quietly flitter through our meaningless lives wondering when our next promotion will come, hoping that the love of our life turns up from behind a cloud or bickering that our family is not of the same psychological/metaphysical nature as you are, sit back and take a nap. If you are a rocker listen to Linkin Park/U2, if you’re a trance or house junkie open up a 20 litre can of Soul House/Beach Trance, if you are a classical oldy, unhook some Chopin. Close those tired lost eyes and open them up again soon to read what I’ve written.

It doesn’t have to be music, anything that sends a lightning strike down your spine like a dragon on concentrated Red Bull will do. Think back, when was the last time you felt those goosepimples glide over your skin, what caused it? Was a sound, a moment, a person, or a God? Just lose focus.

I regretfully announce that there is no real purpose to this post, and as much as I’d like you all to become believers and be hypnotized into reading my content day by day, it really only depends on how much you enjoy my writing.

Some are born to serve others, while there are those who are born to lead. Some miracles are born to smash belief structures and lead the world to a new dawn, while there are those who just perish as they cannot handle the new age. Whatever it is that you are born to do, you will never miss that bus. Everyone is not on the same frequency, and if everyone was, it would just suck to know that the person next to you knows what you are thinking.

If anything, I hope that this post has brought some kind of miracle to your life.
