Why Bruno won’t make it to Indian Cinemas

Dostana is a movie that created more fear amongst the entire Indian polulation than all the wars the country has seen put together. For all those who did not dare see the film, is a rare story about two Indian boys (Men?) in Miami, who decide to flourish out of the closet. Unfortunately for the pro-homosexuals, they are not actually a gay couple(or singles for that matter) and I can’t verify the same for the actors’ lives outside the film, you’ll have to ask Aishwarya or Bips. Blah blah blah, song and dance, classic film references, lots of gay acting and a fake kissing scene between the two later, the film ends.
Karan Johar who’s sexual preference is as heatedly debated a topic as political matters in the parliament, is the producer (unofficial Director) of Dostana. Who he used as inspiration and for what reason KJO made such a film is a guess that you can make better than I. Though if it hadn’t already been a year since the release of the film, I would have proclaimed that Koffee man KJO was coming out about it. Well it could still happen.
On to the main content of this story.
Bruno is a “flamboyant” Austrian model portrayed by Sacha Baron Cohen. The tagline of the film unabashedly proclaims that “Borat was so 2006″. Clearly in his attempt to make our guts spill out while watching his films Sacha will not shy from comparing his own work, going with the fact that his latest project will always be his best.
After publically mooning Eminem at the MTV awards earlier this month by falling out of the sky in a skimpy angel getup Bruno quite expectedly landed his tooshi in front of the rapper’s face if not on it. If anything I can vouch that it must’ve been the first time Eminem saw/smelt/tasted an “Ass like that”.
Bruno is not afraid to show his wild side, and knowing Sacha Baron this one’s definitely going to top the “can’t watch with parents without being porn” list.
How Dostana made it past the bloodsucking censor board is a mystery as big as the film is homophobic, the answer to which Kjo alone knows. Regardless of which, the day Dostana premiered will be always be remembered as the day that Indian cinema was most scandalised. So what if it made people more aware of homosexuality? I can safely assure that “campness” is something that can only happen in western countries (as told to me off the record from PM the puppet) Its another avenue altogether that Indians staying abroad enjoyed it more than the locals. Being an Indian out of India, I too have been known to chase after under par Bollywood and enjoying them no matter how jaded they may be (reference to Welcome to Sajjanpur and Kismat Konnection). Thus Indian society is in all naturality homophobic, and therefore Bruno will never make it to Indian silverscreens.
For the record, Borat didn’t make it either, so what else is new?
