The lemon, a drop of petrol and Latino Jazz channel
by anirudhasher on Jan.21, 2010, under Not So General
I think I am getting back into the groove. It takes a certain amount of jolly good humour and persistence to be able to live through a writer’s block, and I am not even referring to the place where I live. Life has been tossing and turning since a while now, I entered into a beautiful relationship with a gorgeous girl, a camera and lots of hard hitting lessons about life. Well the life lessons keep coming, but really you don’t realise it till you’re either at the very top or the very bottom. All in all, voila! I am alive and kicking and now typing too!
The sense behind the title: I just filled petrol into my car and am currently listening to the Latino Jazz channel on iTunes. The lemon is there purely to amuse.
Latino Jazz is definitely that secret something that keeps those Spaniards and Mexicans chilled out as they sip on margheritas and take siestas under their massive house sized sombreros. A lifestyle definitely worth trying out atleast for a couple of hours everyday.
What have I been upto?

This is not a spam bot, its just me. I have been busy not with writing but with helping out the progress of this one student run website.
I feel sleepy now so will be off to bed, all that talk of siesta caught up to me! Ciao then!
Grapes & Glasses

As I looked out my verandah, all that could be seen was a blurry picture of what should have been a necklace with buildings for pearls. By wearing my discarded pair of spectacles I would have been able to see clearly, but I choose not to. Even as I write this right now, I hope to be able to type whatever rings through my mind, but the reality is as vague as the universe.
It is a sociological tendency which I believe true, that whatever is not within reach of a human being is what it lusts for the most. Hitler wanted world domination, Danny Ocean a large amount of money, Romeo wanted Juliet and I…. well let’s leave that aside. This instead of deterring most people is the secret behind most people’s motivation. As the dice of luck, the roulette of love, the clock of time, and the plant of nature work and grow at their own pace, aligning according to planned randomness to affect millions of people the world over in the metaphysical metaphor that divides astro-physics from microphysics. The wolf still jumps higher everyday to get to the forbidden grapes that limply hang so far above and yet so near. One of the following results could ensue.
If a grape were to just fall down, just giving a tiny taste to the wolf, it would stir an infinite madness within him and strengthen his resolve to jump higher to get the grapes.
Or if the wolf managed to grab a mouthful within a small number of jumps, He might just take for granted that he is exceptionally good at jumping and thus the grapes would soon be forgotten amidst other thoughts.
And finally after what may seem to be eternity, if the wolf finally manages to attain his longed for reward, it would seem a victory to the equivalent of conquering Rome, for not only would the wolf have developed excellent leg muscles in the process, but the event would also be cherished by him for the rest of his life. Inevitably for a price.
Mr. Wolf having lost the relationship he had with his spouse and two pups, proves another rule of life, “Everything comes at a price.” even grapes, what price are you willing to pay?
I return to the world where my physical body stands in the worldly verandah, “Oh dear” I say to myself, “Its dark already! I must sleep so I can try at those grapes again another day.”
Note: I had written this little piece when I was in Bombay and had not yet thought of going to Australia for Higher Studies (No drug pun intended). The view of the Mumbai Skyline is taken from my own verandah, the same one that inspired me to write the above piece.
